New Years 2009

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2009 is wonderful for all of you and your families.

Last night Makoto hosted a New Years Eve Sukiyaki party. Chi chan, Kyosuke, Makoto and I were joined this year by Kazuyo chan, Achan and her friend Chika. We ate, drank and laughed our heads off before countdown. We were watching 絶対笑ってはいけない and this years theme was newspaper reporters. Hilarious!!

Just before midnight we prepared 年越しそば to eat for longevity. Where we put it I am not sure as we had been pretty much eating non-stop for the past 4 hours. But we saw in the new year with yet more food.

Then it was game time. First off Jenga! Of course not wanting to be the one to knock the tower down we all strived to take from the middle and put it on top. Inevitably though sometimes the plan didn't work. :) Next game, Pass the Pigs. Also a bit of a thinking game, we were stretched to the limits there. hahaha

Partied away and before we knew it it was daylight! 7 am saw us pack up for home and well deserved sleep. But Chi chan was determined not to let today go to waste. So she convinced me to meet up around 5pm after "breakfast" to go to Sosha for Hatsumode. ;) It was FREEZING and I actually think it snowed a bit. Next we went for Hatsu Starbucks. hahaha More than anything we just needed something warm to hold!
